Bicycling Quebec is one of the top 10 bike routes in the world

Quebec is truly a different world. French culture is preserved here in the oldest city in North America. Language, music, architecture, and most of all food are taken to a different level here. Our trip offers a slow and easy ramble through historic villages marked by graceful church spires. Then it's back into Quebec City itself to stay in a wonderful boutique hotel and ride the bike paths that thread through the city.

Day 1- Transfer from Quebec Airport and hotels to L'Islet sur Mer

We'll pick you up anywhere in the city and then drive to our inn, an 18th century water mill set in beautiful forest above the river. Our warm-up ride meanders along the rural roads of Quebec.

Lunch, Dinner
16 or 35 miles
2 nights at Auberge des Glacis

Day 2 - Historic Villages and the Seigneurie les Aulnaie

As we roll out of the inn, it's time for an easy day of bicycling. Quebec's country roads offer something to explore before joining the Route Verte to ride along the banks of the mighty inland sea. Stop and visit a charming maritime museum, lunch in the delightful Café Libellule and then take the tour of the Seigneurie grist mill and manor house.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
37 to 57 miles

Day 3 - Rolling on the River

As our Quebec Bike Tour continues, we leave our Auberge and follow some inland roads before descending to the river at La Pocatiere. We ride through Kamouraska, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in Quebec, and stop for a late afternoon microbrew on the deck of Brasserie Breughel. Then it's on to St. Andre to our home for the next two days, the elegant La Sollailerie.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  25 to 57 miles
2 nights at La Grand Voile

Day 4 - Bas St. Laurent

Guided bike tour of Quebec leads to picturesque villages

From the picturesque village of St. Andre we offer a number of ride options. If you enjoy bicycling Quebec on flatter and easier routes, take the Route Verte along the river through the bustling little city of Riviere du Loup. You can beat the prevailing winds and take a shuttle back to the inn. For a more challenging ride, climb into the mountains behind the town and ride forested roads and tracks before an exhilarating descent back to St. Andre

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
 30 to 50 miles

Day 5 - Velo Route La Chaudiere

After a morning transfer back towards Quebec City, we ride the bike route along the Chaudiere River. Picnic on divine Quebec cheeses beside a rushing waterfall before we ride on into the city following the Parcours des Anses, a two lane bike highway along the St. Laurent. We’ll take a ferry ride that brings us into the heart of Quebec.

Breakfast and Lunch
22 to 47 miles
2 nights at Auberge Sainte Antoine

Day 6 - Montmorency Falls and the Bike Paths

Today we ride out of the city to the spectacular Montmorency Falls. Here we can take a cable car or follow the trail across the top of the falls and learn some of the fascinating history. Take it easy and bike back to explore the city streets or join your guides for a guided biking tour of the extensive bike network that covers the city.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
25 to 35 miles

Day 7 - Quebec and the Champs de Battaile

We get up early for a morning ride through the streets of the old city and up onto the Plains of Abraham, site of the pivotal battle for supremacy in North America between the French and English in 1759. Our Quebec bike tour concludes with a trip back to the inn for another exquisite breakfast before returning home.

Breakfast, Lunch
15 miles
