5 Lighthouse Bike Toursm
We begin with a short shuttle ride, bike fitting, and an introduction to your bicycle. Your ride starts along a bike path through Willard Beach – one of Portland’s most charming communities to Bug Light, which marks the entrance to the Portland Breakwater. We explore the lighthouse, enjoy the magnificent views from the park, and learn about the liberty ships built during the Second World War. From here we cycle on to the Spring Point Lighthouse, and Fort Preble a 19th century stone fortification. We continue through Portland’s charming beachfront community before cycling onto Shore Road, one of Portland’s most exclusive addresses. The next stop is the majestic Portland Head Light, where we enjoy Portland’s best lobster roll overlooking the ocean. We continue cycling past saltwater farms to 2 Lights State Park and local favorite Kettle Cove.

“What a wonderful way to have a leisurely ride through Portland and Cape Elizabeth to see five light houses. Alex was a great host and tour guide, especially since he grew up in the area. Lots of fun.”
“The ride was a good balance of sight-seeing, exercise, and local history. Lobster roll for lunch was outstanding. As rain rolled in at the very end of our journey, the van met us with perfect timin”
“My husband wanted to do something more active than driving around Maine and stuffing our faces with lobster rolls so we signed up for the bike tour of 5 lighthouses. I think we really lucked out because it was just another couple on the same tour so it was almost like having a private tour. Our guide, Peter, was very professional and knowledgeable. I am not really into biking but the ride was definitely manageable. Some of the hills were a little challenging but luckily the uphill climbs were short and not very steep. I am really glad that that we did the tour because it gave us some great views of Portland and the coast and also some exercise. We definitely would recommend it to anyone who is visiting Maine for the first time or looking for a little bit of exercise and culture.”
“My husband & I just returned from Portland Maine where we completed two day trips. 1st was the 5 lighthouse and the next day exploring Casco Bay. Alec, our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and adaptable. He provided guidance, history and was able to answer all questions. I did not realize how hilly Maine was; Alec was great staying close by and helping me so that I was able to manage the many hills. Overall we had a great time.”
